Writing your first chart

Open the editor and type lyrics as plain lines. Put chords on their own line above the lyric they belong to — the editor keeps them aligned. Mark sections with headers like Verse 1, Chorus, or Bridge (Cyrillic headers such as Куплет and Припев work too).

Transposing

Open any song and use the transpose buttons to shift the whole chart up or down by semitones. The original stays unchanged — transposition is applied on view, so every musician can read the same song in their own key.

Printing

Use the print button on a song page rather than your browser's print menu. It produces properly paginated output with page breaks that don't split a chord from its lyric line.

Organizing songs

From your profile you can create folders, move songs between them, and mark songs public or private. Public songs appear on your public profile and in the site-wide index; private songs are visible only to you.

Translations

If a song exists in another language, it can be linked as a translation so readers can switch between versions. Logged-in users can request translations from the translations dashboard; volunteer translators and reviewers handle the queue.

Importing from Google Docs

If your charts live in Google Docs, use the Google Docs importer to bring them in without retyping.
